Description
This amazing 1950's rhinestone parure consists of a choker-length necklace, a bracelet, and oval brooch and matching oval clip-on earrings. The necklace, bracelet, pin and earrings all have clear, prong-set, emerald-cut rhinestones. The necklace and bracelet have these stones set into a triple row with smaller stones on the outside. They both have unusual and gorgeous box-shaped clasps that make them slightly adjustable in length, since the two strands of rhinestones at each end can be threaded through the clasp at any point. The oval brooch and earrings have the same emerald-cut rhinestones set around their outside edges, with more radiating outward from a central, larger oval rhinestone. The extra shiny (and relatively heavy) silver metal that the stones are set in appears to be rhodium-plated. The metal has no scratches from normal wear, and the set actually may be unworn. However, it does have 2 small flaws. Firstly, the finish on the clip of one earring back is tarnished. Also, the last two triplets of emerald-cut rhinestones on the necklace (at the end by the box clasp) are each missing one soldered point. This means that they are no longer attached to each other entirely, although they are still perfectly attached to the outer rows of rhinestones. Since they are still attached at all but one point, this flaw should not be visible when the necklace is flat (as it will be when worn). You cannot, for example, see this very well in our photo since the necklace is laid flat.
