DescriptionThis faceted black glass bead and celluloid chain necklace from the late 1930s or early 40s has a chunky yet elegant look. It reminds me a little bit of jet Victorian mourning jewelry, and there was a Victorian revival in the design of costume jewelry during this period, so that may be why. The glass beads are attached in round clusters, alternating with single beads. The celluloid chain closes with a hook clasp. The beads show some nicks from wear; the necklace is in very good condition, with no other issues. It matches well with our early 1930's black glass bead earrings, as shown in the last photo.
