Description
Although the words "elegant" and "jumpsuit" are not always associated, in this case, they should be! This 1970's polyester crepe jumpsuit by Sydney North is covered with two layers of long, elegant black fringe, one beginning just below the bust and the other layer underneath, at the hip. The jumpsuit has a v-neckline, echoed by the inverted-v empire waist seam, where the fringe is attached in front. The bracelet-length sleeves narrow a bit to just above the wrist, and the legs are slightly flared, but definitely not bellbottoms. The lavish fringe seems to reference an evening look from the 1940s, and in fact 40s-influenced clothing was very popular in 70s fashions. The jumpsuit closes with a vinyl zipper in the back, and the bodice is lined with black taffeta, while the legs are unlined. Aside from a few broken/shortened strands of fringe (that will be difficult to notice when it is worn), the jumpsuit has no noted flaws, and it is otherwise in excellent condition. Please note that although the inseam measurement appears very short, like many vintage jumpsuits this one has a longer rise, so that the legs are actually a "normal" length, as shown on our mannequin.
