DescriptionThis boxy, dark brown suede late 1940's or early 50's handbag has a fabulous, extra wide top handle. It is an envelope style, with a front flap that closes with a gold metal turnlock clasp. The bag is lined with faille, and appears very gently, if ever, used. It has one zip and one slip pocket and a matching coin purse. The bag has no condition issues, however this type of vintage, fine, "doeskin" suede does sometime shed dye, a process called "crocking". Although the dye on the suede does not easily rub off when the purse is handled normally, if you rub hard enough it will transfer onto your finger. This means that the bag should not be carried when wearing a light-colored outfit, for fear of dye transfer. It is otherwise in excellent condition.
