Description
Dating from the late 1950s or early 1960s, this pair of men's pajamas has a print of pale yellow sampans (or Chinese boats) on a background of dark gold shantung-textured rayon fabric. The tunic-length pajama shirt is a pullover style with an extra loose fit, a round neckline, a front yoke pointed at the center and a single patch pocket. The loose-fitting, straight-leg pants have a drawstring waist. The pants have attached Asian-style "cuffs" which are sewn on rather than turned up. The pajamas were probably homemade, since they have no labels other than the fabric maker's name on the selvedge, visible on the inside only. They are in excellent condition. Pajamas, whether vintage or modern, are most comfortable with a loose fit, so please compare our measurements to a pair that you already own, for best fit.
