Description
This late 1940's Hawaiian shirt was made in Japan for Victory Import Co. The fabric feels like stiff, crisp silk (like a vintage kimono, actually). The amazing print on the shirt has lots of Japanese motifs, including: cranes, Mt. Fuji, a stylized Japanese garden, fans with peach designs on them and an adorably grumpy cat figure. The main colors are bright leaf green and sand, with accents in red, purple, black and white. The shirt has a loop collar, wooden buttons, a back yoke, and short sleeves, all typical of the Hawaiian shirts of this era. It is in good to fair condition, with some overall light fading, some light spots, a more noticeable water spotted area on the back yoke near the neck, and some discoloration inside the collar. Marked a vintage size medium, this shirt is approximately a size 40, but please check the measurements for more size details.
