This late 50’s black silk satin strapless dress by Mr. Blackwell couldn’t be sexier! Va-voom! Known for his famous “Worst Dressed” list, the exacting fashion designer made a dress that can’t fail to impress even the most critical eye. The curves of your hourglass figure will be shown to advantage by the slinky shape of this dress, fitted through the top with boning to help hold up the unusual, pointed strapless bodice. The dress is fitted through the hip, and then gathered at the hem with two tiny bows. Underneath the top layer of satin, a layer of black taffeta forms a lining, and is finished at the hem with a section of black satin that peeks out below the gathered overskirt. The lining is somewhat faded, which obviously only shows on the inside. The only other issue with this incredibly vampy little black dress is a slight pulling near one of the back bodice seams; it’s not pulled open, but just stretched a bit. The bust of this dress is quite full, I would say at least a C cup, although it could always be altered if need be.
