Size: 4.25" wide and 46" long
Label: title only "The Old and The New"
This may be my favorite novelty print 1940s tie that has ever come our way, with its fantastic rust and ivory print contrasting old and new technologies against a dark green, leaf textured background. A quill pen, a bottle of ink and a (rather truncated) copy of the Declaration of Independence are paired with a "modern" typewriter and adding machine and mechanically printed documents. The tie is titled on the back "The Old and The New". Although unlabeled, this it came to us with another NOS 1940s tie by Wilson which was titled on the back in the same way, so it was probably also made by them. The tie is in excellent to mint condition, never worn, and will make a fabulous gift for a writer, a politician, or a vintage tie collector.
