Description
This unusual belt, hand made in Greece, is constructed of lots and lots of strands of silver wire, woven in a chain link pattern, and partially painted turquoise and pink. The oval buckle is also made of woven wire. I think that the belt dates from the late 60's or early 70's by the width, but handcrafted items can be difficult to date accurately. Two metal prongs behind the buckle can be hooked anywhere along its length to close it, making the size very flexible. The belt is in excellent condition, with a few tiny loose strands of wire near the buckle (see close-up photo) which can be easily wound back into the chain link weave. It will look amazing with jeans, and equally fabulous over a dress!
