Description
Aviator sunglasses by Randolph Engineering are the real deal--Randolph glasses like these are the official glasses issued to members of the US military since 1982. According to the company's website, "Famed for their extreme durability and classic American styles, these sunglasses are meticulously handcrafted using only the finest materials." This pair of sunglasses is their Aviator style in the chrome frame finish, with neutral grey glass lenses and bayonet temples, designed "for military pilots to fit comfortably under head-gear and enable them to quickly place or remove their eyewear". In one episode of "Mad Men" Don Draper is wearing a (slightly modified) version of these glasses, so you know they are cool! The lenses do not have Randolph's logo printed on them like the new (civilian) glasses being produced today. Although the company has been in business since 1972, this particular style has not changed since then, making an exact age-determination difficult. The glasses came to us in a 60's ladies' leather glasses case. They are a smaller size, (see measurements for more details) and will fit best on a lady's head or a smaller size man's head. They do not appear to have been worn, and are in excellent to mint condition.
