Description
This comfy yet sexy jersey shirtdress from the 1970s will look great worn everywhere from a day out shopping to a date night with your honey. The acrylic jersey knit fabric has a tomato-red background with an ivory hearts print. The deeply v'ed neckline is created by unbuttoning the front a low as you'd like; the dress has buttons from neck to hem. It has a large, slightly floppy pointed collar, long sleeves with narrow cuffs that button closed, and a gently flared skirt to about mid-calf. The narrow matching fabric sash can be tied at the waist if desired. The dress is in very good to excellent condition, with two of the hearts near the waist just slightly yellowed (see close-up photo). This will be hard to notice when the dress is worn, but under our bright photography lights it is just visible. Although the dress is label-less, it came to us with a batch of several similar jersey dresses labeled Diane von Furstenberg. The construction, including the narrow, cuffed sleeves with slightly puffed shoulders, the center back seam, and the feel of the fabric, are all very similar to the navy print DVF dress also for sale here on our website, However, with its label removed, I can't prove this beyond a doubt, since many designers did copy her iconic dresses once they had appeared on the fashion scene. Whether Diane von Furstenberg actually made this dress or not, it is darling!
