Description
The sheer peach silk chiffon of this beautiful 1920s nightgown is trimmed with ivory lace at the hem and a large inset panel of the same floral lace on the bodice. The lace panel is trimmed with appliqués of chiffon in a matching floral pattern and there are a few tiny lace sections set into the chiffon too. The edges of the dainty appliqués are all embroidered with darker peach silk thread. The lace panel on the bodice continues at the back of the neckline in a narrow band to match the lace at the hem. The nightgown has a loose fit with a dropped waist silhouette, like the dresses of the 1920s, with horizontal seams just above each hip where the fabric is gathered into small pleats. The scooped neckline and the arm openings are trimmed with peach chiffon piping. There are tiny belt loops at each side seam, but the original belt is not present. (A length of peach silk ribbon would make a great replacement.) Other than the missing belt, this lovely and feminine nightgown has no issues and is in excellent condition.
