This strapless 1950s party dress and bolero jacket set pairs two fabric textures: iridescent greenish-gold taffeta with airy tulle in the same color. The cropped jacket has short sleeves and a single hook and loop closure in front, just below the bust. The fabulous, full-skirted 50s dress underneath has a pleated tulle sweetheart bodice, with horizontal rows of taffeta pleats from the underbust to the piped waist seam. The strapless bodice is boned to help keep it in place when worn. The skirt has a gathered center front panel of tulle, with diagonally draped and pleated taffeta to each side of it, continuing to a single layer of taffeta at the back of the full skirt. (It is shown with a crinoline underneath in our photos, which is not included—ask us, if you need one—we sell them!) The tulle sections of the bodice and skirt are both lined with the same iridescent taffeta. The dress fastens with a metal side zipper. In very good condition, the dress has a faintly discolored area at the center back of the skirt (measuring about 5 inches wide by 1 inch tall) and few tiny spots (also on the back of the skirt), neither of which issue is likely to be noticed when it is worn (see close-up photos for details). The color difference seen in our photo at the top section of the skirt is from the crinoline underneath--there is no fading. If you’re looking for a fun and festive 1950s party dress in an unusual color, this is it!
