Description
This never worn, dusty mauve pigskin suede 1970’s safari-style suit just needs big sunglasses and platform boots to complete the chic ensemble! The original tags are still attached to both the jacket and the pants. The jacket is belted at the waist (the belt is detachable), and has four patch pockets with button flaps. It has a pointed collar and an unusual, U-shaped back yoke. The suede is gathered below the yoke for a bit of fullness at the back of the jacket above the belt. The hem of the jacket is curved with tiny side slits. It is unlined. The supple and soft suede bellbottom pants have a flat front, seams at the knee, and close with a metal zipper and hook at the waistband. They are lined in matching acetate fabric, and have a half an inch of discoloration at the hem, possibly from dampness when they were stored. You can just see this at the hem of the pants in the full-length photo. This minor discoloration could be removed by either a brushing/cleaning, or by hemming the pants just this half an inch shorter (or not worrying about it, since it will be quite hard to notice when the pants are worn). The only other imperfections in the suede are a hint of discoloration at the center of the belt (where it was hung up, perhaps) and a small circular indentation in the back of the jacket near the waist (see close-up photo). None of these minor flaws will significantly detract from the outfit, which is in very good condition. The suede is still soft and clean overall, and will soften even more with wearing. It appears to fit like a petite size extra-small.
