Label: Gaitan Genuine Leather Hand-Carved Hand Made in Mexico
Natural tan tooled leather pumps made in Mexico by Gaitan, these approximately size 9 to 10 narrow vintage heels date from the late 1950s or possibly the very early 1960s. Like many late 1950s shoes, they have softly rounded but still quite pointed toes and gently curved, pointy heels. They have leather linings, insoles and soles. The glued-in leather insoles have “bubbled” a bit from age, and new padding underneath them (or new insoles) would make the shoes more comfortable—although they are certainly wearable as is. In very good condition, their only other issues are some wear to the coding around the shoe openings and some light scuffing to the leather from normal wear, most visible on the left front toe (see photo). They have modern replacement heel tips. These circa 1950s tooled leather pumps are a classic rockabilly style, in a versatile color that will be nice for spring and summer.
Please refer to the measurements for details about size, since 1950s shoe styles fit a bit differently than modern shoes do. Feel free to contact us with any specific sizing questions!
