Description
A gorgeous dress in a gorgeous color, this 1960's Teal Traina cocktail dress and matching cropped trapeze jacket have a bright yellow, orange and green floral print on luxuriously soft silk. The elegant little dress has deeply cut armholes, with tiny decorative buttons at the shoulders. The waist is defined with a wide, moss green velvet attached sash with a bow that hooks in back (over the top of the metal zipper). The skirt section has two wide, flat pleats in front, making it into a sort of front panel that stands away from the rest of the dress. The bodice and skirt are both gathered at the waist seam, giving the dress a somewhat loose silhouette, gently draping over the body rather than a very tightly fitted, "wiggle" shape. In keeping with this soft silhouette, the cropped jacket has a full, swingy shape. It closes with two large covered buttons below the folded stand collar. The sleeves are elbow-length. The curved hem of the jacket is a bit longer in the back than the front, where it hits above the velvet sash at the waist of the dress. The dress is lined with darker gold muslin fabric, and the jacket is lined with bright yellow crepe. The dress has a deep, 4-inch hem which can be let down if desired; it hits at about knee-length now, as shown on our mannequin. Both pieces of this set are in excellent condition, with 2 or 3 tiny pulls o the surface of the silk of the dress as the only, hardly visible issue.
