Size: 6” wide by 7” tall (without ball fringe)
This circa 1900s reticule or Edwardian evening bag has a caramel silk velvet drawstring top, while its lower half is made of cross stitched needlepoint designs in ivory, coral, blue and gold, with crocheted ball fringe hanging from its base. The top of the bag should draw closed by pulling the long, gold braid straps, but they have come loose from the blue-violet silk lining inside and no longer draw the top of the bag together (see our close up photo of the bag lining). Each strap has a brown wood bead and a tassel at its end. This dainty reticule is in very good condition, with no issues other than the straps being loose from the lining. The rest of the bag seems sturdy and it could be relined for regular use, or kept as is for study by a vintage purse collector.
