This circa mid 1930s ladies hat in tomato red faille fabric has a shallow crown and a moderately wide brim, to turn up or down as preferred. Sometimes called a slouch hat, this casual yet stylish 1930s hat is made of concentric rings of faille sewn together. Labeled “Crusho”, is will in fact travel quite well, without being crushed! Ivory topstitching and a fold or wide pleat on one side of the crown complete the look. The hat brim is widest at the front and narrowest at the center back, as described in the measurements. This hat has a shallow crown, as mentioned above—it is not a cloche hat, and will not pull down low on the head. Instead, it was designed to tilt jauntily to one side or the other, while perched on the top of the head. In very good condition, the hat has one minor issue: a faint mark on the upper side of the brim (see close-up photo), unlikely to be noticed when the hat is worn. An authentic 1930s vintage hat in a great color, this versatile red topper will be easy to pack for traveling, and fun to wear!
