This sheath style, 1950s white dress with blue cord and ivory lace floral trim would be perfect for a bride—or for any spring/summer occasion! The dress has a flattering square neckline and cap sleeves, and it is fitted at bust, waist and hips with darts, for a classic, 1950s “wiggle” dress or hourglass silhouette. The unlined, medium-weight fabric looks like linen, but is actually a rayon and acetate blend. The back hem of the skirt has a kick pleat, and the dress fastens in back with a metal zipper. Ivory-painted metal studs adorn the crochet lace floral trim, a small part of which is missing (in the lower flower—see photos). In very good condition, the dress has no other flaws to note. It appears hardly ever worn, so perhaps the lace was damaged in storage. The style and the color combination remind me of Marilyn Monroe—but you don’t need to be a movie star to dazzle, in this darling 1950s dress!
