This structured black wool felt beret hat from the early 1950s will make you the most stylish beatnik chick in the land! The unusual, asymmetrical crown is rounded at the back with a tiny upturned brim, but in front it is blocked into 3 straight angles that frame the face. A felt “stem” and 3 small rhinestones trim the center top. This c. 1950s vintage twist on the classic black artist’s beret hat is in very good condition, with one tiny mend in its crown, next to one rhinestone (see close-up photo).

Crown diameter: 10” from side to side and 11” from front to back, measured across top of hat
Inner circumference: 21”
Label: none but stamp inside crown “Glenover, Henry Polk & Co. New York”
