This early 1950s swing coat or short clutch coat is made of beautiful black and ivory bouclé wool, often called "poodle wool" because of its curly texture. The swingy coat has bracelet-length, wide, cuffed sleeves and padded shoulders. It flares a bit from under the arms to the hem for a subtle swing silhouette. The coat has no fastenings and should overlap slightly in the front when worn. It has diagonal, welted pockets at each hip. Black rayon velvet trims the sleeve cuffs and the top section of the notched lapels. The lining is silky, black rayon satin. In excellent condition, the coat's only issue is that the store label at the back of the neck is loose on one side (we have it shown pinned in our photos). A great coat for wearing with everything from jeans to a cocktail dress, it is very versatile and the two-tone curly wool fabric is fabulous!
