This early 1960s two-piece dress consists of a sleeveless blouse and matching pencil skirt in a linen textured fabric. The lightweight fabric (probably a rayon blend) is printed with an abstract floral design in black. The blouse has a notched hem, a gently fitted shape and a crystal-pleated ruffle at its v-neckline and down its front. The skirt is relatively short (stopping just above the knee on our tall mannequin) and straight, with tiny gathers where it meets the narrow waistband. It may have been shortened at one time, since the skirt hem is 3.5 inches. The skirt fastens with metal zipper in the left side seam and it is unlined. The blouse is also unlined (so, you may want a slip underneath) and fastens with a metal zipper down its center front, hidden behind the pleated black ruffle. Together, the two pieces look like a dress, but they can also be worn separately—a wardrobe bonus! They are both in excellent condition.
