A 1960s dress that is ready to party, this cocktail sheath style dress in orange, gold and green chiffon has surprise in the back—a row of flirty ruffles from neckline to hem! You will get noticed, both coming and going, in this 60s cocktail dress with an unusual, watercolor-style, bright plaid print. The ruffles in back start out in front as a sheer capelet collar that drapes over the shoulders to give the effect of cap sleeves. This collar follows the v-neckline in the back of the dress and then meets in the center to form the double-layered ruffles. The ruffles hide the metal zipper in back. The dress has darts from the bust to the hips, both in front and in back, to give it the “wiggle dress” hourglass shape of the mid-century vintage sheath dress. It is lined with yellow taffeta, except in the sheer collar and ruffles. In very good condition, this 60s cocktail dress has one minor issue: a tiny rust spot and tiny hole in the chiffon on the lower left front of the skirt, unlikely to be noticed when it is worn (see our close-up photo with the end of a pen next to them for size). It appears unworn and has no other flaws.
