This mod 1960s mini dress is made of black crepe and chiffon, and accented by rows of sparkling rhinestone trim. It has the dropped waist style popular in the mid 60s, which was influenced by the shapes of 1920s fashions. Vertical or princess seaming gently shapes the dress bodice, from bust to high hip. The decorative buttons on the acetate crepe, sleeveless bodice are covered in the same black fabric. The applied rhinestone trim (clear glass stones set in rows of black plastic) frames the V-neckline, and decorates the front bodice and the faux pocket flaps at each hip. Below the low waist/high hip seam, the pleated skirt has 2 layers of pleated chiffon. Stiff nylon “thread” has been sewn into the hem of the chiffon layers to create their ruffled, curly shape. The dress fastens in back with a nylon zipper. It is fully lined with black acetate or acetate-blend taffeta. In excellent condition, this mid 1960s cocktail or party dress has a youthful, fun vibe!
