This circa early 70s Mr. Dino print velvet 2-piece outfit combines a boxy, cropped vest and a maxi skirt. Worn together, they serve the same purpose as a late 1960s or 70s evening dress or hostess dress, although you could also wear each piece separately, for more casual occasions. The fashion label Mr. Dino, created by Max Cohen in the late 1950s, was known for its prints, similar to those of Emilio Pucci, but all prints used were original creations by the designer Cohen. (In fact, he even invented the silkscreen machine used to print the designs onto his garments!) This set is chocolate brown cotton velvet has a beige and cream print that remind me of stylized oak leaves. The short vest has a slightly boxy fit with a round neckline. It fastens in front with a metal zipper and is lined with dark brown taffeta. The full-length skirt is relatively straight from hips to hem, with a fitted, wide waistband and high side slits. The skirt has a plastic zipper on the left side and is unlined. Both pieces of the set have Mr. Dino labels attached, as well as his signature in the print itself. This late 1960s outfit is in excellent to mint condition with no flaws to note.
