This structured, alligator-stamped brown leather 1940s handbag has a heavy brass frame with 2 compartments, and a large and fabulous hinged clasp. The 2 top handles are attached to the bag with matching brass hardware. The overall shape of the bag is taller than it is wide, nearly rectangular, widening slightly from the top of the frame to the base. Inside, the bag is lined with lovely tan suede with matching alligator-textured leather trim. It has several slip pockets and 1 zip pocket in its 2 separate compartments. In good condition, the bag is showing some wear to the leather at the lower corners and on the double straps, as well as some minor scratches to the surface of the metal hardware. The leather has not been professionally conditioned, but it is sturdy enough to be used with reasonable care, as it is currently. This stylish 1940s handbag is quite heavy due to the amount of metal in the frame, and the leather lining—a well-made vintage 40s bag, for certain!
