This aqua roses print cotton cheongsam dress dates from the early 1960s. The classic hourglass silhouette is created using darts to shape the bust, waist and hip. The tiny stand collar and the left side of the short-sleeved bodice are fastened with small snaps running diagonally to the left sleeve, plus a single fabric frog closure. The dress also has a metal zipper in the left side seam. The narrow hem has small slits at each side seam, for ease of walking.  The lightweight polished cotton fabric is unlined, and has a slight sheen to its surface. The darling floral print in darker and lighter shades of aqua blue has scattered bouquets of roses and individual blooms against a very mid-century, abstract linear pattern. In very good condition, this rose print 1960s cheongsam dress has a tiny spot at the center front of the bodice, and some minor fading across the top of the left sleeve (see photos), neither of which is likely to be noticed when the dress is worn.
