This simply chic, black brocade early 1960s dress is the perfect “little black dress” for cocktail hour and beyond! Skinny straps suspend the straight neckline bodice. The dress is given its classic mid-century hourglass silhouette by vertical darts running from the bust to the hips. The medium-weight brocade fabric feels like a blend of rayon and acetate. The shiny background is woven with a rather fabulous, matte floral pattern. The dress is fully lined in black acetate taffeta, which has been cut off about 4 inches above the current hem—perhaps the previous owner has intended to shorten the hem, but never got around to it. This 1960s LBD dress fastens in back with metal zipper, and appears unworn. It has no issues to note, other than the shortened lining. It is in very good condition, very sturdy and ready to wear. I have shown the dress unpinned from the mannequin in my last photo to give a better idea of its actual size, but please check the measurements for details about fit.
