This gold, copper, and black metallic brocade late 1960s evening dress has clean and simple lines, so as not to compete with the stunning pattern of flowers, dots, and swirls! The short-sleeved, round-neck bodice is shaped by a curved seam under the bust, and diagonal bust darts. Below, the shape of the dress is a gently flared A-line shape from underbust to hem. The lightweight metallic brocade is a blend of either silk or rayon with the shiny lurex fibers—it has a silky feel to it, in the non-metallic sections. The dress is lined with a brown, lightweight poly-cotton blend, and fastens with a nylon zipper at the center back. The pinkish tinge to the fabric in some of my photos is a trick of the light with the metallic fibers; the actual colors of the dress are black, gold, and copper. This fabulous 1960s evening gown will actually be quite comfortable to wear, because of its lightweight fabric and moderately loose shape below the bust.
