This late 1930s black homburg hat by Dobbs has a wonderfully wide, grosgrain hatband and flat bow, to match the grosgrain on the “pencil-curled”, or rolled brim edge. The hat has a relatively tall crown, at 5.25” tall, with a single center or “gutter” crease. It is labeled a size 7, with the white Dobbs size tag that was in use from the 1920s-1940s. The size tag is loose, but still present, tucked under the leather inner band. Also under the inner band is a circa late 1930s factory label (see photo). This true vintage 1930s Dobbs homburg hat is in very good to excellent condition, with minor signs of normal use to the inner leather band and lining fabric, but no other issues to note—the black wool felt crown and brim look flawless!
