This black liquid satin Albert Capraro zip-front dress from the 1970s is quite fabulous: the slinky, crepe-backed rayon satin fabric and the rhinestone accents are classically glamorous. The dress has a blouson bodice, gathered into an elastic waist and trimmed with a front tie.  The pointed collar opens into a v-neckline—as low as you like—with an awesome, rhinestone-studded black plastic zipper—each tooth is set with a single stone!  The skirt length is above the knee on our mannequin, although not really short enough to be described as a mini skirt. An extra bonus: the skirt has side seam pockets. The slightly puffed, long sleeves have fitted cuffs. Capraro worked as a designer for Oscar de la Renta before starting his own fashion house in 1974, so the dress dates to the mid-to-late 1970s. It is in near excellent condition, with a very minor scuff or flaw to the surface of the satin on the upper back section of the skirt--see photos. The rhinestone zipper needs moderate care in opening and closing it, since the mechanism is a bit tricky; it does work fine, just not quickly. If you are planning to dance the night away, or lounge elegantly with a cocktail, this stylish dress from the golden era of disco will keep you looking chic!
