This black nylon crinoline or fancy half-slip from the late 1950s or early 1960s has a sparkling silver and black tulle double flounce trimming its hem—rather too fabulous not to be seen! The slip has a narrow elastic waistband, and is semi-fitted from the waist to about mid-thigh, where it flares out into the ruffled hem. Each of the 2 tiers of silver and black tulle is lined with black acetate taffeta, with a 2nd ruffled layer of plain black tulle attached to it (see photo). The knit nylon tricot fabric used for the upper section of the slip has a bit of stretch to it, as you can see in the measurements, below. This knit section has subtle fading from age and/or storage—it is more of a brownish black color, than a true black. In very good condition, this fun 1950s-60s half-slip or crinoline has no other issues to note.
