This wide brimmed 1940s hat is black straw has a wonderful, asymmetrical brim. This unique, curved brim shape is created by the pleated band of black taffeta that is threaded through a small opening in one side of the brim, to pull it up in the center. The rest of the 1940s halo style, wired brim curve outward on each side to frame the face, with the shallow crown designed to rest towards the back of the head. In back, the brim narrows, almost disappearing where it is turned up to meet the crown, at the center back of the hat. This dramatic black straw 1940s hat is in near excellent condition, with minor signs of normal wear but no real issues to note.
