This wonderfully crisp, black rayon taffeta 1950s dress has an alluring stripe of black rayon velvet curving over the full skirt. The fitted, scooped-neckline bodice has bust darts for shaping, and tiny cap sleeves. The velvet stripe starts on one side of the skirt hem, curves upward to just below the natural waist in front, and then back down again, to the hem on the other side. The back of the skirt has a curved seam just below the natural waist that echoes the shape of the velvet stripe in front—a neat detail! The full skirt is shown here with a large and fluffy crinoline underneath, which is not included (although we do have some for sale, if you're interested!). The dress fastens in back with metal zipper, and it is unlined. In very good condition, it has one teeny pinhole in the fabric just below the bottom of the zipper, and one quite small hole/snag at the front of the left sleeve, just above the sleeve hem (see close-up photos). With or without a crinoline, the extra full skirt of this 1950s dress will be fun to twirl in!
