This leafy print, black and white cotton 1950s dress has a large shawl collar of white piqué fabric, its outer edge trimmed with black cotton. The cap-sleeve bodice has a deep V-neckline, with darts for gentle shaping. Below the waist seam, the full skirt has flat pleats all the way around, to add volume. The lightweight cotton fabric is unlined and the dress fastens with a metal zipper at the center back. In very good condition, this cute 1950s cotton dress has some very minor yellowing to the white piqué collar, and one small faded area at the front of the waist (see close-up photo). This faint area of fading would be hidden by the addition of a wide belt, although it is not that noticeable unless you look very closely.
