Black white stripe cotton sport shirt 1950s-60s | M

1950s Clothing

This black and white stripe cotton late 1950s sport shirt with white terrycloth trim is perfect for covering up at the beach, or drinks by the pool! It has a tiny “Continental” or “Italian” style collar, with a toggle-shaped button and loop closure at the V-neckline. Both the rolled collar and the inner edge of the neck opening are cotton terrycloth. White terry trim also edges the slits in the straight hem at each side seam. The shirt has one patch pocket, closed with another toggle button. The medium-weight cotton duck or canvas fabric is crisp, and just a bit stiff. It may soften up a bit with future washing, since the shirt appears hardly or never worn, right now—in excellent to mint condition. The black and white stripes give this late 1950s casual shirt an extra sporty vibe—umpire or referee, or just a stylish spectator!
