As with many beautifully beaded garments from the 1950s and 60s, this fancy black wool 1950s cardigan sweater was made in Hong Kong for export to the US market. The wool underneath the beading has a honeycomb pattern with an open weave. Tiny black glass beads and shiny sequins cover it all over, including on the small, rounded collar and over the ribbed knit edging along the front opening and finishing the three-quarter-length sleeves and the hem. The cardigan has no fastenings, and is is fully lined with black rayon chiffon. Perfect for adding some sparkle over your favorite vintage dress for evening, this 1950s beaded cardigan will also look great worn more casually. The unstructured style was designed to be a bit loose fitting, but I have given a range of measurements, so you can decide based on your preferred fit. In very good condition, the sweater has a small hole in the chiffon lining fabric, and a few scattered, missing sequins, which you may be able to see in my close-up photos. This is highly unlikely to be noticed when it is worn.
