This bright royal blue, bias cut rayon velvet 1930s cocktail dress is one of the best, most vibrantly colored vintage velvet dresses that we have ever seen! The luxuriously soft velvet is draped into horizontal folds across the front of the bust and high neckline by vertical seams across the front of each shoulder. This gathered section then opens up into the full, gorgeous sleeves, which are in turn gathered into the fitted cuffs at the wrists. The waist seams sits approximately 1 to 2 inches above the natural waist, and the slinky, bias-cut skirt flares out just a bit from knees to hem. The velvet fabric is unlined. The dress has some marks on the fabric: one on each sleeve and one on the front of the skirt. We have lightened our close-up photos of these areas to show them better—they are less noticeable in person, but faintly visible. This fabulous 1930s dress has only one fastener, a hook and eye at the back of the neck. So, please check the measurements carefully, since the waist section of the dress will need to be pulled on over your head and shoulders.
