This royal blue satin brocade robe or dressing gown is probably circa 1960s to 70s, but the Asian-inspired style is classic, and therefore somewhat difficult to date exactly. The brocade fabric has birds, foliage and flowers woven into it in bright colors and gold. The mandarin collar, front of the bodice, the pocket edges and the sleeve cuffs are all trimmed with embroidery, giving them a quilted effect. The three-quarter sleeves may be worn with the cuffs turned up or turned down, as shown, for a longer length. The shoulders are lightly padded for a slightly squared-off silhouette. The dressing gown closes with frogs in front and is lined with darker blue acetate. It is in excellent condition.
