This bright red lace, late 1950s cocktail dress has the curvy, hourglass shape of the era. A pleated, red satin “sash” encircles the ribcage, just under the bust, slanting upwards on the sides of the dress to end at the the low back neckline. Small cap sleeves extend out from the fitted bodice, below the shallow, boat-neck-style front neckline. The nearly straight skirt has a kick pleat at eh back hem, for ease of walking. Vertical seams shape the bust, waist and hip area, curving over the upper bust. The dress fastens with a back metal zipper. The red lace fabric is a crisp acetate, over a red rayon taffeta lining. The truly hourglass fit of the dress (see measurements) is a solid 10 inches difference from bust to waist (and from waist to hips), best shown in our last photo, where the dress is unpinned from the mannequin. This bold, lipstick red 1950s lace dress is in excellent condition, with no issues to note.
