Double rows of ruffles adorn the bodice of this 1960s dress in a classic shirtwaist style. Each ruffle is edged in brown crochet lace, harmonizing with the autumnal floral print in yellow, gold, brown and white. The decorative buttons on the bodice are made of textured brown plastic that reminds us of acorns. The short-sleeved bodice has a high, stand collar with a center notch, and a gently fitted shape, underneath the ruffles. The knee-length skirt is gathered at the waist seam, creating moderate fullness through the hips. The waist is cinched with a gold grosgrain ribbon sash, lined on its back half only, with white vinyl. The dress fastens with a metal zipper in back. It is unlined. The cotton-blend fabric (probably polyester or acetate mixed with the cotton) looks and feels like oxford-cloth cotton. In very good condition, this cute 1960s day dress has some faint yellowing at the underarm area, which, luckily, is well hidden by the color of the floral print (see close-up photo).
