Made of chocolate brown leather, this pair of circa 1940s lace-up oxford ladies’ peeptoe shoes features a pretty, pieced design, and comfortable, 2-inch Cuban heels. The label, “Dr. Locke Shoes” made comfort shoes from the 1930s to the 1950s, both in the US and Canada. The shoes have dark brown ribbon laces, leather soles, insoles, and leather linings (except for the toe box, which is textile-lined). The toes are slightly squared off, with small, peeptoe openings. The shoes have a very tiny, ¼-inch platform under the front soles. In very good condition, these 1940s Cuban heel oxfords have a few light marks and scuffs to the leather uppers, and some wear to the leather soles and heel tips, consistent with normal use. They have lots of wear left in them, and are a hard-to-find, larger and wider size!
