This bias cut 1930s silk, sheer lace evening dress is a rich chocolate brown color, with an embroidered floral design. The flutter cap sleeves have deep arm openings. The scooped neckline dips slightly lower in the back, above a decorative keyhole opening. The waist has a narrow, attached belt in back. The hips have inset panels, which add a bit of fullness and drape to the tea-length skirt. The sheer, silk lace fabric is light as air, and quite delicate. In good condition, this dress is fragile and can be worn, but only with care. It would also be nice for display, of course. There are a few small breaks in the lace and also a few mends in the pattern of the lace. They should be fairly hard to notice when the dress is worn, but the most visible one is at the top of the right shoulder (see close-up photo). The dress has no openings or fasteners, and must be (gently) pulled over the head—although it does have some give to it, due to the bias cut.
