This early 1950s vintage alligator frame handbag in rich chocolate brown would have been a coveted accessory for a lady of the 50s—and is still a classic luxury item today. The top-handled bag is much wider at the base than at the top/opening, and has a metal frame (covered in alligator skin) that fastens with a gold metal, hinged clasp. Inside, the bag is lined with pinkish-beige leather, and hides a bonus—a small lucite-framed mirror and a matching, brown alligator coin purse! The single top handle is backed with leather for stability. In very good condition, the only issue with this 1950s alligator handbag is some darkening of area around the clasp, from normal handling (see photos). We have lightened a few of our photos to better show the excellent condition of the alligator skins; the most true to the bag’s actual color are the darker photos.
