Colorful brushstroke print cotton 1950s dress | S-M

1950s Clothing

This shirtwaist-style early 1950s cotton dress has a fit and flare shape, with buttons from the V-neckline to the hem. The “brushstrokes” abstract print combines bright yellow, pink, aqua, and grey with black accents, against a white background. The lightweight cotton is a plain, flat weave, but the brushstroke print gives it the appearance of a surface texture. A matching belt cinches the fitted waist seam. The cap-sleeved bodice is gently fitted, and has some yellowed discoloration under the right arm, only (see photos). This is likely to be less noticeable when the dress is actually worn than it is in the photos--unless you stand around constantly holding out your right arm, LOL. This versatile 1950s cotton day dress is in very good condition, with no other issues to note. The print cotton fabric is quite sturdy, and has plenty of life left in it.
