This sequin-trimmed, mid-1960s shift-style cocktail dress by Dalton combines bright gold metallic fibers and ivory wool in a glowing, shadow-stripe pattern. A wide row of gold paillettes and clear “crystal” plastic beading sewn to metallic braid trims the neckline and sleeve cuffs. The fitted cuffs button closed with dyed-to-match, mother-of-pearl buttons. The sleeves are gathered above the cuffs, and about bracelet-length. The classic 1960s shift dress silhouette narrows just slightly at the waist, and flares gently outward from below the hips to the hem. This style of dress is intended to fit somewhat loosely, so please keep this in mind when checking the measurements. The mid-weight knit fabric has only a tiny amount of give to it, because more of the threads in the weave are metallic than wool. However, since more of the metallic fibers are woven on the outer side of the fabric, the inner side is a bit softer and less scratchy than it otherwise might be. The dress is unlined, and fastens in back with a nylon zipper. In near excellent condition, the dress has a few bead/paillettes missing from the trim, which are very unlikely to be noticed when it is worn. Make shiny entrance at your next event, in this fun 1960s gold cocktail dress!
