Label: Haband’s Dundee Tie
This deadstock plaid 1940s tie in royal blue and grey with stripes of white and red may look like wool, but it is actually “spun rayon”, according to the label inside. Like many 1940s and earlier ties, this particular tie is rather short. They tend to be shorter than modern ties, since they were often worn with double-breasted or 3-piece suits, complete with vests or waistcoats. This bold blue plaid 1940s necktie is in excellent to mint condition, unworn, with its paper label still attached. It also has an unusual, metallic aqua printed label on the underside of the wide end. The “Dundee” castle emblem on both labels is really neat!
