Dramatic 70s hooded cape black wool gold velvet XS

1970s Clothing

This dramatic 1970s hooded cape combines warm and soft wool velour with a contrasting, gold cotton velveteen lining. The black wool velour is an unusual fabric that feels similar to heavy velvet, but with a slightly lower pile. The bright gold velveteen peeps out of the center front opening of the cape, and is most visible in the lining of the hood. The cape has 2 arm openings/slits in front. It fastens with 3 heavyweight hooks: one at the neck, hidden under the satin “rope” neck tie, and 2 more hooks lower down, to about the lower ribcage. Beautifully home sewn, this 70s black hooded cape is in very good, near excellent condition, with one faint mark near the front hem (see close-up photo). It should fit approximately a modern XS, with the smallest/most fitted area at the shoulders. (It just fits on me, at size 6 petite, but is definitely a bit too long.)
