This buttery yellow silk georgette early 1930s slip is lavishly trimmed with floral ecru lace at the deep V neckline and around the calf-length hem. The fine, silk georgette fabric is similar to chiffon, but with a more “grainy” texture, like a very lightweight crepe. The pointed panel at the front of the skirt section is double-layered (or lined) in the same fabric, perhaps for modesty. The narrow straps of matching yellow georgette fabric have no buckles or other method of adjusting them, although it would be an easy matter to shorten them, if desired. In very good condition, the slip has one small break in the lace of the bodice, and one faint horizontal mark (fold line?) all the way around the lower section of the skirt, at about mid-thigh height (see photos). This lovely, lace-trimmed 1930s full slip could also be worn as an elegant nightgown—or, add another slip underneath and wear it out and about!
