This “film noir” style late 1940s dress is made of lightweight black rayon crepe. The triangular keyhole neckline is accented with rhinestone trim at the shirred section to each side, below the round, folded collar. The dolman-style cap sleeves have small shoulder pads. At the front hips, self-fabric piping creates the illusion of pockets. Below these faux pockets, small gathers add fullness to the beautifully draped, flaring skirt. The dress fastens with a metal zipper in the side seam and a single snap at the back of the neck. The matching belt is present. The dress is unlined, and semi-sheer: you can see the white color of my mannequin peeking through, just a bit. This noir film, femme-fatale-style late 1940s cocktail dress is a true vintage classic, in near excellent condition, its only issue some scuffs to the fabric of the belt.
